Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me!” At the JIPC nursery, our goal is to provide a loving and safe environment for parents to help their children grow to know the Lord. The nursery is staffed by a combination of employees and volunteers. All of our volunteers and staff have completed the requirements of our Child Protection Policy, including a background check.
We have three age groups on Sunday mornings, each meeting in their own room: infants, toddlers, 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s. Families can choose to bring their children straight to the nursery prior to worship or have them join the nursery following Children’s Time.

James Island Presbyterian seeks to teach our youngest members about God’s love from a very early age. Preschool Ministries offer children an opportunity to be introduced to worship and Bible stories through Sunday School, Pray and Play, and Cherub Choir.
We have two preschool Sunday School classes: 2’s & 3’s and 4’s & 5’s. Each class is led by a team of dedicated volunteer teachers.

Pray and Play
During the Wednesday Night Live semesters, children ages 3-5K are invited to join “Pray and Play” following WNL dinners. Each week, children will gather from 6:30-7:30 to learn a short lesson and enjoy games and crafts while their families are engaged in PYC or adult courses.

Cherub choir is an opportunity for children 3-5k to become more deeply devoted followers of Christ by praising God through “joyful noise” which includes singing, instruments, and movement. The central focus of the choir is to share the joy of the music ministry and enable our younger children to develop a deeper relationship with God. Cherub choir meets in the Narthex on Wednesdays during the school year from 5:30- 6 pm and generally participate in church services one Sunday a month and the Christmas Pageant.
